THE FOLLOWING IS AN ARTICLE WRITTEN BY TYRONE REID FROM "THE MUSIC SYNDICATE"

"The Mickey Rat Band"

Many bands come and many bands go but "The Mickey Rat Band" has been a constant fixture of the Windsor, Ontario music scene for many years. Founded 15 years ago by Front Man and lead guitarist Scott Giles. The very versatile group covers a wide spectrum of music which includes Motown, Disco, 50's, 60's , 70's, 80's, Big Band Swing and New Top 40 styles of music.

The band's current members include Ty Marion (percussion and guitar), Danielle Samson (lead and background vocals) and Chris Osborne (drums). Scott leads the band while taking control of his guitar on every number. The beauty of this band is it's vocal range. Every member takes on lead and background vocal duties during the show. The band members were influenced by the likes of James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Toby Keith, Eagles, Doors, Miles Davis, Elvis, Dan Folgerberg, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah McLaughlin and Tori Amos. The band performs regularly at Casino Windsor and recently played several nights in Niagara Falls. When I asked the Sultry, Silky and Smooth Danielle Samson what it was like traveling with a bunch of guys? She replied, "Not too bad, it's like traveling with a bunch of big Brothers". The Mickey Rat Band is scheduled to perform July 1st at "Trump Marina Casino" in Atlantic City. This engagement will be a Jimmy Buffett tribute tour stop. Greetings Scotty et al:

I wanted you to know the thorough pleasure I experienced listening to your group Dec. 7 at the Windsor Casino. I especially enjoyed meeting you and getting acquainted with Mark and Dani during your breaks. As a bass player (mediocre), I got a charge watching Mark. He certainly livens up a stage with his infectious energy and showmanship. I'd kill to have a tenth of his ability. Somehow, I missed actually meeting Mitch and I'm sorry about that. Maybe next time. Over the years, I have had the good fortune to know (and work with) a number of musicians whom I consider top-notch. You folks have gone to the top of my list. I admire your musicianship, professionalism and the fact that you all appear to be genuinely nice people. What a winning combination! I don't know how far you stray from your home base, but if you should land a gig in the Flint (Michigan) area, let me know and I'll have a group of appreciative friends there to enjoy what you do. My wife and her niece enjoy the casino, but I'm not much of a gambler, so I usually stay home. However, I can now tune in to your web page and knowing when you folks will be there will likely entice me to come along with the girls from time to time. You certainly made the evening for me Saturday.

Best regards,
Bob DeLand

Hey guys,

Saw you at Ford Yatch Club this past week and really enjoyed the show. I'm in the process now of booking a band for my upcoming Commodore's ball - it will be Saturday Febrary 1, 2003, if you're available. It will be at the K of C hall in Lincoln Park - a very nice facility.
I think you guys have two things going for you that make you a great choice for our club -- first off, you're not about volume at all. When we get a big mix of people old and young alike, the volume is an issue regardless of the quality of music. I was able to stand by your sound system at Ford - quality though it was - and have a discussion with another member -- I enjoyed the hell out of that and found it very appealing. Secondly, the variety as well as the quality of your song reproductions was just outstanding. On a few instances I had to remind myself that you weren't a D.J. spinning CDs. You guys are a very presentable bunch, have tons of talent, and while I can't sign contracts for upcoming gigs, I do believe that the club will fall for you, and when they do - you'll be back at every opportunity.

Thanks
Jeffrey S. Forrester

Scott
